Cheap and Good Bakery in Outskirt of Seoul : Paik’s Bakery

  Paik Jong-won, sometimes he is called Baek Jong-won and in Korean it is 백종원 the same, is a Korean food business tycoon. He is the founder and CEO of The Born Korea, which has dozens of brands for all about food and beverage, and even a hotel in Jeju Island. 

  He always seeks the ways to offer good prices, service and quality of food to customers, and he is showed on TV show almost everyday like an entertainer, so he is very popular and everyone knows him in Korea. He is a role model for all restaurant owners in Korea.

  Especially his cafe brand, Paik Dabang(빽다방) is well known for large quantities and cheap prices. For instance, the price of a cup of americano is 1,500 won.

  Paik Dabang franchising business has grown quickly, so now most of local towns in big cities have at least one Paik Dabang store. I said “at least”. In my town, in Paju, Gyeonggido, there are four Paik Dabangs.

  Recently The Born Korea launched new business about bakery, derived from Paik Dabang. It is called Paik’s Bakery, 빽다방 빵 연구소 in Korean.

  Paik’s Bakery has the same coffee and beverage menu to Paik Dabang. Just it has more various bakery things such as olive ciabatta, chocolate scone, Korean red bean bread, sweet garlic baguette and milk cream bread. Oh, even hot dogs!

  You know food prices are soaring around the world because of inflation. Especially wheat price is going up seriously. But the prices of Paik’s bakery are good. The range of price is from 1,500 won to around 3,500 won. When we ate takeout at home, we felt that it tasted good and the sizes were big.

  So if you have any chance to hang around Songdo, Incheon and need cheap coffee and dessert or light meal, Paik’s Bakery would be a good choice.
