Winter is coming! Early birds already started planning how they will enjoy snow in South Korea this year.

Korean ski resorts have increasingly attracted tourists all around the world who want to enjoy snow activities. Many people, especially from South East Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia visit South Korea to experience snow and ice outdoors in winter. Since Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, visitors have increased. In Christmas and New Year’s Day season, every ski resort in South Korea is full of people from all around the world.

Although during the pandemic, 2020 to 2021, tourism industry shrank globally, as outdoor leisure activity suppliers less risky than indoor things, Korean ski resorts have been visited by many snow sports lovers including expats.

At last South Korean government has eased most of Covid-19 restrictions even for cross-border arrivals. So ski resorts in Korea are ready to welcome happily visitors with more advanced services, facilities and systems.

We have a dozen of ski resorts in South Korea and major resorts are as below.

As you can see, most of ski resorts are in Gangwondo Province, because many parts of Gangwondo belong to the long range of high mountains, called Taebaek Sanmaek. And across Taebaek Sanmaek is the coastline of East Sea. So Gangwondo has perfect environmental conditions for extreme activities not only in winter but all year round.

Moreover these resorts in Gangwondo are not far from Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. Mostly travel time takes around two hours from Seoul by a car. And most of ski resorts provide buses to take customers to their resorts from main downtown areas in Seoul such as Gangnam and Hongdae.

Also all resorts provide lessons for beginners and equipment hire, even sled slopes for little kids.

Alex and Min are snowboard guys. Every winter season they enjoy sliding down different slopes in different resorts.

Some resorts are already taking early birds booking now and you can get the best deals by the agency. So we are going to give you information about each Korean ski resort. One by one.
