A Series of Post on Korean Fried Chicken Brands You Should Eat : Puradak

A funny thing about Pradak is the name itself. It sounds like the Italian luxury fashion brand name Prada. And their black bag for take-out and delivery also looks like the global luxury brand.
The taste of their chicken is also like a designer’s brand. I mean it is high quality as though they are designing recipes of fried chicken.
They promote on their web site that they supply high quality K-chicken and deliver high value to customers. And they made a contract with Jung Hae-in, the Korean actor of JTBC drama ‘Something in the Rain’ and Netflix drama ‘D.P.’, for their advertisement, which goes well with Puradak’s image, I think.
Basically Puradak chicken is baked in the oven first, and then fried in fresh oil, they say.
The best item they are promoting recently is Gochu-mayo chicken, which is fried chicken covered with special mayonnaise sauce and topped with jalapeno. Gochu(고추) means chili pepper. The sauce is sweet mayonnaise added green peppers. But it is not so spicy.
There are four types of Gochu-mayo, Gochu-mayo, Sunsal(순살, boneless) Gochu-mayo, Tender Gochu-mayo and Gochu-mayo Wing-combo. Their tender chicken means it is covered with powdered rice so it is crispy. Its Wing-combo series means only-wing-part fried chicken. As of October 2022, the prices are 18,900 won, 21,900 won, 18,900 won and 21,900 won respectively.
Another best chicken of Puradak is Black Aglio. It is seasoned with sweet soy sauce and topped with garlic flakes. You can fully enjoy salty-and-sweet, so called ‘dan-jjan-dan-jjan(단짠단짠)’ taste. It has three types. Black Aglio, Sunsal Black Aglio and Black Wing-combo. The prices are 18,900 won, 21,900 won and 21,900 won respectively.
We ordered a half-and-half set of Sunsal Black Aglio and Sunsal Gochu-mayo. This set is called Sunsal Black-mayo and the price is 22,900 won. And we also ordered French fries with powdered cheese(6,500 won). Its portion is big. I like it. A half-and-half set of Sunsal Black Aglio and Sunsal Gochu-mayo, and French fries and a 500ml can of beer was enough for two adults. They gave us extra Gochu-mayo sauce and coke free. If you want more gochu-mayo taste, dip it in the sauce.
Oh, we ordered a bowl of egg-meat-mayo rice for Soo. She can’t bite a big chunk of chicken well. I think their egg-meat-mayo rice is good for little kids. It is 3,900 won.
The best way to eat Gochu-mayo is to put a piece of jalapeno on chicken and eat together. Texture is creamy and crispy and slightly spicy. In the same way, put a garlic flake on Black Aglio and eat together. It is pretty much savory.
When you eat Korean fried chicken, don’t forget beer to make perfect chi-maek(치맥, chicken and beer). This time I drank Hite Extra Cold, the Korean brand, which features light and clean taste.
By the way, my favorite K-drama starring Jung Hae-in is the Netflix original drama, ‘D.P.’ I highly recommend it.
