The River View Cafe in Outskirt of Seoul : OZ Bakery Cafe

  One the way to Daepssari Park in Yeoncheon, we stopped by OZ Bakery Cafe to have breakfast. We were looking for a restaurant or a bakery cafe in Yeoncheon opening early morning to have light breakfast, because we wanted to arrive at the park early to avoid the crowds. And we found this cafe which opens at 7 a.m. It is around 30-minute driving distance away from Daepssari Park, our tour destination to feel autumn. 

  Another reason we chose this cafe is its river view. This cozy and neat cafe is right in front of the river called Hantan-gang. It has a outdoor terrace where tables are set facing to the river.

  We arrived the cafe at 9:00 a.m., when freshly baked warm breads were already in showcases and we were attracted by sweet and buttery smell. Inside of the cafe some customers already sat at tables and were talking with morning coffee and bread. A family with children and grand parents, a middle-aged couple and a young couple. We also took seats after taking some photos with river backdrops.

  Another good thing about this cafe is that price of coffee is reasonable. Hot americano is 3,500 won. Prices of bread is from 4,000 won to 7,000 won, slightly expensive I think. But taste was so good. It might be because we had fresh warm bread.

  In October it is a little bit cold in morning, so we stayed indoor at the cafe, but still the view was great and Soo enjoyed watching three kitties playing outside through a big window.

  We ordered two hot americanos, a strawberry smoothie, pumpkin-and-nuts poundcake, onion creamcheese bread and sweet potato cream bread. I love pain D'or, but I didn’t buy it because I thought it was too much.

  We love to visit good local bakery stores or cafes. I think it was a good call to choose this cafe. We stayed this calm and peaceful place for an hour talking about today’s plan before heading to Daepssari Park. When we left the cafe 10:00 a.m., cold went away and it started getting warm with sunshine. We took another drive to the broom cypress park passing by beautiful road along ginkgo trees.

     

- How to get OZ Bakery Cafe

  The location is 192 Sunsa-ro, Jeongok-eup, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. In the previous post I recommended to rent a car or use a tour agency service to get Daepssari Park in Yeoncheon. Likewise this place is not easy to get by public transportation. Putting this place in your Yeoncheon tour itinerary would be good. The cafe is on a ground floor in a small pretty two-story building with a big parking lot.

  It opens 7:00 - 21:00. Every Monday is off day.
